Rainbow Den
Creating Opportunities for Every Little Explorer...
At Little Explorers Community Nursery Ltd, our Rainbow Den offers a flexible curriculum and routine designed to meet the individual needs of every child in our care.
During their time within the Rainbow Den, children are supported through personalised plans that focus on developing communication, wellbeing, independence, confidence, and important life skills to help them flourish both now and in the future.
Our enhanced resource room provides children with additional guidance and support from our experienced team, while also giving them opportunities to integrate into the main nursery environment in ways that suit their individual abilities, interests, and stages of development.
Since developing and enhancing our Rainbow Den, we have seen a hugely positive impact on our little learners, with children making wonderful progress and families feeling incredibly supported throughout their journey with us.
What do our parents say?
"Thank you so much for all of your work on Rosie's EHCP. All you work and dedication on that has meant the Rosie will get the support she needs from day one when she moves onto primary school. It has relived a great amount of stress and worries from us as her parents! We can't thank you enough for caring and being the best at your job!" Becky & Sonny
"Alice couldn't love Little Explorers anymore if she tried and neither could us as her parents. The compassion, support and love shown to Alice throughout her little explorers adventure has been amazing! The den has been a HUGE help. She uses it often when she feels a little overwhelmed and there are resources that suit Alice's need that help engage her. The support from staff has been incredible and her development has grown from strength to strength. We are truly thankful for all of the help." Sian & Johnny

Kixx Sessions
Little Feet, Big Goals!!
We have our very own football coach come and see us once a week to teach us skills in the world of football.
Whether your child is a newbie to football or a child who is a beginners pro; there's a space for every child above the age of two to learn and perfect their skills. The sessions are fun and engaging and the children are always excited for their next session.
This is an optional session where parents can choose to enrol them. If you would like to enrol your child onto our Kixx Academy, please click here.

Forest Sessions
Connecting children with nature, one adventure at a time...
We’re lucky to have our very own forest area at nursery, where children of all ages enjoy regular forest sessions throughout the week.
These sessions give children the freedom to play, explore, and take safe risks in a natural woodland environment. Whether they’re building, climbing, investigating, or simply enjoying the outdoors with their friends, every visit is an adventure.
As they explore, children grow in confidence, develop their communication skills, and build independence—while having lots of fun discovering the world around them.
School of Explorers
After-school adventures...
Is your child currently at Jump Primary School or Tankersley St Peter's Primary School or you're planning to send your child there? The fun doesn't stop here at Nursery.
We provide wrap around care within Jump Primary School to support parents by providing a fun and enabling environment for your children. Activities are around your children's interests and can include, crafts, science experiments, games and more!

Dream Big, Explore More!
Helping children discover the world and imagine who they might become...
We aim to inspire the next generation by helping our children grow curious about the world around them and begin to think about who they might like to be in the future.
We plan a variety of experiences both in nursery and out in the local community, including trips and visits to places such as our local care home, Hoyland Hall Care Home. These opportunities help children build connections, develop empathy, and learn from the people around them.
We also welcome visitors into nursery to share their roles and experiences. In the past, we’ve enjoyed sessions with the local police, a professional hockey player, a community nursery nurse, a local gardener, and more.
These experiences spark joy and curiosity in our children, helping them to better understand the world and the many possibilities open to them.
Learning Language the Little Explorers way...
Communication counts!
Using our strong knowledge and experience in early years development, we are proud to introduce our bespoke Speech and Language Tool Kits. These carefully designed resources support our educators in understanding each child’s stage of development, age, and individual needs. This helps us provide the right level of support so every child can grow in confidence and develop their communication skills at their own pace.
This exciting addition reflects our ongoing commitment to high-quality early years education. Alongside our Next Step Resource Packs, these tools help guide children as they work towards important speech and language milestones in a supportive and nurturing way.

What does our Early Years Consultant think?
"I am always struck by how reflective you are as a team and how as a setting you have successfully embedded a reflective culture. This motivates and empowers all staff to continuously look for ways to improve the experience of the children"
Lisa
